When Are Marvel's Other Netflix Shows Returning?

PT KONTAK PERKASA - Luke Cage Season 2 is the latest Marvel series to stream on Netflix, but what comes next? The relationship between Marvel Television and the streaming service has been one of the most remarkable in superhero TV; these shows are darker and more brutal than any other Marvel series, adding a fantastic depth and tone to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the past three years, they've developed their own corner of the MCU - one filled with street gangs and criminal Kingpins, with super-powered private eyes and brutal vigilantes.

PT KONTAK PERKASA - The original deal saw Netflix sign up for four shows, culminating in a crossover series The Defenders. Although there are currently no plans for a second season of The Defenders, all of the original shows have been renewed. There's even a spinoff series, starring Jon Bernthal's Punisher.

So with Luke Cage out now, when can we expect to see the next Marvel Netflix show? Here's everything Marvel has in the works right now, in the order they're likely to be released.

Iron Fist Season 2

The first season of Iron Fist was hardly a critical success, but Marvel hired a new showrunner for Season 2 - Raven Metzner (Sleepy HallowHeroes RebornFalling Skies). Jeph Loeb recently revealed that Iron Fist season 2 will stream later this year. The series is expected to have a major presence at SDCC 2018, which may imply that this will be the next Marvel show to be released. Until 2017, Marvel and Netflix tended to release only two shows a year; they upped this to three last year, and it seems they're increasing this to four. If that is indeed the case, we should expect Iron Fist in August or September this year.

Daredevil Season 3

Daredevil Season 3 has also wrapped production, with Erik Oleson serving as showrunner. This series is expected to explore the consequences of The Defenders, which ended with Matt Murdock believed dead. It's generally believed the story will draw inspiration from Frank Miller's Born Again arc, while swag from the set has teased that we'll finally see the MCU version of Bullseye. No firm release has been assigned, but this series too is expected in 2018. If Marvel's marketing at SDCC is focused around Iron Fist, then we can assume Daredevil Season 3 is a little further away - presumably in November or December.

The Punisher Season 2

The breakout star of Daredevil Season 2, Jon Bernthal's Punisher became title hero of his own series last year. Marvel and Netflix wasted no time in commissioning a second season, with production beginning in March. It's believed the plot will be based on the Suicide Run arc in the comics, which saw Frank Castle recovering from a near-death experience under the suspicious eye of a local sheriff. Given Punisher Season 2 is quite early on in production, it's a safe bet this will be the first Marvel Netflix show to stream next year.

Jessica Jones Season 3

Jessica Jones Season 2 streamed earlier this year, and Marvel and Netflix swiftly renewed the show for a third season. Production has yet to begin, and as a result relatively little is known about Season 3's development plan. Krysten Ritter recently revealed that the show will begin filming soon, so again this can be expected to stream next year.
